The Gallery “Art Indus" was established and registered by the Chamber of commerce (KVK) in the beginning of the year 2005. It took a start in the heart of the Dutch historical city named Dordrecht,but later it turned into the online gallery to promote the spirit of art collecting, restoring the pieces of the lost history through the ranges of collections in different cadres from the ancient artifacts to coins, stamps and so on and on. Now the runner of this online gallery (Ilyas) who once had inspired by the charms of contemporary arts and history of south Asian region has extended his focus on building collections in different ranges from the Asian regions to the whole Asia including near east and up to the ancient Rome. Now local and international collectors and art lovers may explore and build up their art collections through this web shop. When he began to collect ancient artifacts and coins in his primary school times in the 70's, since then he built up a sizable collection of rare ancient coins and diverse small ancient artifacts from different cultures and regions.

During that whole period of his personal inspirations toward art and history, archaeological artifacts and fast variety of the world's ancient cultures and civilizations his experience turn in to the expertise in the field art and history. He is determined to keep promoting this great collecting culture to the young collectors which will also be helping people to understand the history and different cultures through the artifacts while filling up the gap between the present and the past as well. He believes our present cannot be separated from the past because the cultural activities keep them connected with each other and the art and the artifacts left behind through these lost cultures and civilizations are very important to re-establish historic perspective of cultures and build up bridges between present and the past.
