Large Terracotta Fertility Cult figurine -Shunga Period 1st century B.C.

A Rare fertility cult figurine (fragment !) - probably from around Sar Dehri, Pakistan
Shunga period, 1st century B.C 
red hand-modeled terracotta with applied ornaments.
The strict frontal and rigid posture of this figurine is characteristic of a common type of hand modeled archaic fertility figure usually distinguished by such stylistic features as applied slit-pellet eyes, flat bodies wide diminutive but prominent breasts and wide hips.

Height: 21.5 cm 
Condition: Top applied ornament of headdress is missing-rest is in very good condition-with minor aging chips and soil remains as it is containing light soil patina. ( see images for more details)
